INDABA
It all began back in 1990 when multiple cartons, covered on all four sides with stamps, arrived at the Parksville post office from South Africa. Unpacked in their living room, then baby Ali enjoyed playing house with the empty boxes while Irene worked on arranging inventory and putting together her first collections. Over the many years that followed, through countless milestones and mishaps, Irene grew Indaba into what it is today - all the while, Ali was admiring closely her mother's creativity, dedication, and passion to grow her dream. Growing up in the business, from playing in the shredded paper to helping at shows and working on catalogs during her high school and university summers, Ali was learning the ins and outs from Irene. Coming on board full time in 2013, Ali has since become the face of Indaba and a driver of our creative vision.
While the mother daughter partnership is a key to their success, that’s not without recognition and shout out to all the dedicated souls who have helped us along the way, including our team of incredible women, and our customers who are always supporting and believing in us.
